In 2009, Wakefield Acoustics Ltd. provided acoustical design services, in conjunction with Vic Davies Architects, for the Panorama Recreation Centre Aquatic Facility. These services included developing a room acoustics model of the facility. The model was used to determine the types and amounts of acoustical materials required to control reverberation within the space. Wakefield Acoustics Ltd. specified the acoustical materials and assisted with their procurement. The end result was an aquatic facility that provides a comfortable acoustical environment that is supportive of speech intelligibly (lifeguard instructions, swimming lessons, etc.) and where the build-up of reverberant noise is controlled.
